hey friends...

kellyclinger.com I'm Kelly! I have been singing and playing piano for many years. I was once an extra on the Mickey Mouse Club and a background vocalist for Britney Spears. In 2003, I started attending church after years of heartache and pain caused by rejection, divorce, addiction and abortion. My relationship with God truly saved my life.

I am a spokeswoman for the Silent No More Awareness Campaign, a group of men and women who have chosen to tell our stories of the devastating effect abortion has had on our lives. Thirteen years ago, an incomplete abortion left me broken and suicidal after a doctor found hands and feet of my child left inside my womb. Today, I have chosen to take that pain and make it a purpose in my life. I use my voice on behalf of the millions of post-abortive men and women who live in regret, guilt, and self-hatred and also as a voice for the unborn.

I am also a worship leader/singer/songwriter and recorded an album in 2008 titled “In Your Delay." It is a collection of original songs that tell stories, ask questions and chronicle my journey so far. I am working on my follow-up album and have begun writing a book about my life.

I am currently a vocal coach & music teacher in Kansas City, where I live with my husband and our two children. I travel frequently to lead worship and tell my story. Thanks for visiting my website!

my #ihadanabortion update…

Since posting my #ihadanabortion blog 11 days ago, life has been a rollercoaster. As of right now, “#ihadanabortion and I hate myself” has been read by 5,834 people. Hundreds of pro-life websites have posted it, and a few Britney Spears fan websites have picked it up as well. It has been translated into Spanish, Portuguese, [...]

#ihadanabortion and i hate myself

This week has been a complete hell. Someone asked if I had heard about the doctor in Orlando who has been in a lot of trouble, and when I searched for news about it, I realized it was James Pendergraft, the doctor who did my abortions.  He has now had his medical license suspended for [...]

off with the old…

I love winter…time with family during the holidays and sipping cocoa by the fire.  Ok, that sounds cliché, but it really is a great time of year.  It’s that time when things die in order to come back to life stronger and more mature in the spring, which is an awesome reminder from our loving [...]

now that i have seen i am responsible…faith without deeds is dead

Some people are just crazy enough to think that if God tells you to do something He will provide all of the patience, mercy, grace and finances you will need to carry it out.  My brother-in-law and his wife (Chad and Laurie) are some of those people.  They have 3 biological children and adopted a [...]

hey God, it’s me…kelly…

A few random thoughts from my recent conversations with God… The Sermon on the Mount in Matthew 5 should be Christianity 101.  So, Christians, how are we doing?  Are we meek? Merciful? Pure in heart? What are you doing for the next generation?  Can you do more?  I know I can. I’ve learned that there [...]

what is meekness anyway??

Odds are if you spent any amount of time in Sunday School as a child then you’ve read Matthew 5…also known as the Sermon on the Mount or the Beatitudes.  Like me, you’ve probably skimmed over them, maybe even highlighted them in your bible, but never really took time to meditate on them. Who even [...]

not going to adopt? adopt the adopters!

Since we made our decision to adopt we have gotten mixed reactions.  I would say that the most common question is why.  Honestly, it’s hard to answer that question without making the other person feel stupid.  “Because God said to.” That is always met with a myriad of defensive statements. Do I think that EVERYONE [...]

love your husband…even on the tough days…

I’ve written a blog about my awesome children…and I’ve written a blog about things Matt and I have been through in our marriage…but today I need to tell you about who Matt is and why I love him like I do. We met in 1999 at a Christina Aguilera concert at Pleasure Island through a [...]

the boy, baking, and birthday parties

Today was a pinnacle day in the Clinger home.  I baked. Cupcakes.  Darth Vader cupcakes.  AND they were edible. Not only did I make cupcakes, but I rolled & cut fondant, piped, and used a pastry bag to ice the cupcakes.  My kids helped every step of the way…cutting the licorice for Darth’s light saber, [...]
